Team Minnesota traveled to some warmer weather in Colorado for the USA Weightlifting National Junior Championships over the weekend. Both teams did very well, despite having some of the youngest competitors at the meet. The men’s team finished 2nd on the strength of 4th place Uli Manzanilla in 69 kg class and Connor Rousemiller 4th place in 105 kg class. Rousemiller also broke the varsity state record in the snatch with 112kg. The women’s team finished up in 5th place when all was said and done. Alicia Vogel broke the JV state record in the clean & jerk, with a lift of 84kg, in the 75+ weight class. There were also numerous personal records set, as well as several new school records that were established. Congrats to all, on a job well done!
